Filling Out the Common Application Workshop | Specific Access and B Periods September 19-21

For any student who is or plans to apply to college(s) using the Common Application. This workshop will go through the application, noting areas to pay special attention to avoid things like surprise essays, resumes, or additional requirements.

Students may bring a printed copy of their current essay draft to receive feedback by Ms. Harding, Mrs. Love, English teachers, or counselors. As writing is subjective, please remember that this workshop will provide opinions based on professional experience, but you ultimately make the final decisions about your writing.These reviews will focus developmental editing (organizing concepts, big picture) and substantive editing (structure, content, flow). This type of editing is distinct from line editing or proofreading.

Contra Costa County Manufacturing Day | 8:30 a.m.-2 p.m. October 24

This event is designed to empower, educate, and inspire the future workforce of manufacturing. There will be site tours, class observation, lunch, and programming at the local Contra Costa community colleges. The colleges will highlight their programs and educational pathways related to industry and a future in manufacturing. If you are interested in attending, please contact the C.T.E. department.

The Las Trampas Creek, Pleasanton and San Ramon Valley Councils of PTAs are are hosting their annual event, the PTA Advocacy Day for Education, at the San Ramon Community Center. This year's focus will be to put children and families first by encouraging connection, community, and civility to help our children thrive/

Inaugural Contra Costa Trades Career Fair | 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Nov. 7

Students from all over Contra Costa County are welcome to attend. This is an opportunity to explore careers in the trades and speak directly with employers. Will be held at Diablo Valley College. If you are interested in attending, please contact the C.T.E. department.

21st Annual Oakland Black College Expo | 9:30 a.m.-6 p.m. February 17

Meet with HBCUs and other colleges/universities. Student may recevie on-the-spot acceptance and scholarships. Open to all students, bring transcripts (ACT/SAT optional). College transfer students welcome, application fees waived, and job/internship interviews available. Will be held at the Hanry J. Kaiser Convention Center in Oakland.
