Diablo Valley College Summer Career Academies

DVC Career Academies are short-term college courses designed with high school students in mind. They allow students to explore various career fields while earning college credit through hands-on activities and field trips. They fill on a first come first serve basis. Apply through a three-step process:
  1.  Apply to DVC for summer by creating a CCCOpen account and completing the DVC application, after which you will receive a DVC ID number and sign-in credentials.
  2. STARTING IN MARCH: Submit the Special Admissions Recommendation Form with the course number and section that you are enrolling in. This must be signed by the student, parent, and high school counselor unless you are graduating this spring.
  3. STARTING IN MAY: Register for the class you would like to take through your InSite Portal.

Many summer programs are offered by colleges, but they can also be available through the government. The programs can range from one week to several weeks.
